The Board Invites You To Be Involved
The Rochester School Board has selected the New England School Development Council (NESDEC) of Marlborough, Mass., to assist in the search for a new Superintendent of Schools. NESDEC is a not-for-profit organization that serves school districts throughout the six New England states. Dr. Carolyn Burke will serve as the consultant for the search.
In assisting the School Board with the search, NESDEC will generate advertising and outreach materials, recruit potential applicants, provide training and guidance for the preliminary screening committee, and assist throughout the process as candidates are screened and interviewed.
We want to hear from you. Community involvement will be an integral part of the search. The Board wants to hear from you. Within the next few days, there will be an additional tab on the district website labeled “Superintendent Search.”
Please visit the website at www.rochesterschools.com to learn about focus group opportunities and links to our on-line survey as they are scheduled in February. The Board will keep the website current so that you, the community, will be able to follow the events of the search from start to finish and note opportunities for community involvement.
The Board is holding focus groups and offering the on-line survey to gather your insights regarding the attributes, experiences and knowledge that our new superintendent should possess. The Board will use your insights as it creates its Successful Candidate Profile highlighting what it seeks in a new Rochester superintendent.
The Rochester School Board looks forward to working with NESDEC and to hearing from you.
